Contract Expansion With ArcelorMittal, Piracicaba, Brazil.

SMS is pleased to announce an award to expand the existing contract at the ArcelorMittal steelmaking facility in Piracicaba, Brazil. 

SMS do Brasil, a Brazilian affiliate of SMS Mill Services, started operations on the site in 2020, investing over USD10MM for a multi-year contract.  Services included slag management, scrap handling, and other logistics.  After less than two years of operation, ArcelorMittal decided to expand its partnership with SMS by adding additional scrap processing activities that require a further USD6MM of investment in the facility.

This award further demonstrates ArcelorMittal’s commitment and trust in SMS and the significant performance improvements that SMS has brought to them since Day 1 of this partnership.
